1. Food- 500 calories a day
all fur- bearing animals and grass seeds are edible (more food value in roots of plants then the greens_

2. Water- 2-3 cups of water a day, try to reduce physical activities that require water loss.

3. Shelter- Poncho, 2-3 meters of rope or parachute suspension line, 3 stakes about 30cm long. 2 trees or 2 poles 2-3 meters away. Check wind direction, the back of the poncho should be facing the wind.

4. Food- Try to avoid mussels during the summer months they can contain toxins. Frogs, snakes, lizzards, and birds are edible.

5. To prevent water loss, rest, keep cool, stay in the shade, and seek shelter.

6. Avoid red and white berries, and plants resembling beans, melons and cucumbers as they are often dangerous.

7. Setting snares, traps, nets and set lines will assist you in finding food to help you with survival.

8. Purify you water before drinking by boiling it.

9. Predicting werather through clouds; during a fine day the clouds are white, the higher the better. Storm clounds are generally black, low and massed in clusters.

10. Basic principle of surviving clold weather; keep clothes clean, avoid over heating, wear clothes loose and in layers and keep clothing dry.
